Designers at Sony were eager to display the cutting-edge nature of their interactive products in a new and imaginative way. The Millennium Partners were expert in combining entertainment with hotel, condominium, theaters and other retail. The result of their partnership was the Sony Metreon® project, an $85 million, 4-floor urban entertainment center.
The complex acoustic requirements for the IMAX® and 15 other movie theatres presented a noteworthy challenge. An aggressive construction schedule for the entire center created additional pressures for all of the contractors on the project.
